Overview

KPOINT Studio provides a way to replace the audio of your video clips easily without having to record the visual part again. Replacing the audio file for a video can be useful in various scenarios:

  • You can replace a bad quality audio recording with a better audio
  • Create a video clip for training or marketing and replace the audio with a professionally recorded audio or voice over
  • Correct a mistake in the audio by simply re-recording the audio part for the video clip

How to replace audio

  1. Create a new Project in Studio or open an existing project to edit. 
  2. Click on the desired video clip in the timeline
  3. Click on the ‘Replace audio icon’ and you will see 2 options

           

       A: Replace audio

  • The ‘Replace Audio’ option lets you replace the entire audio of the selected video clip, with an audio file from your device. 

         

  • Select the file to be uploaded
  • Once the file is uploaded, you can see a preview of the video clip with the new audio.
    • In case the length of your audio file is longer than that of the video clip, a message will be flashed for a few seconds. If you save this, the last frame from the video will continue to be seen in the player till the audio plays.
    • In the second case, if the length of your audio file is less than that of the video clip, a message will be flashed for a few seconds. If you save this, the part after the audio ends will be silent while viewing the video
  • If you are happy with the result, click on ‘Save’

      B: Record audio

  • Another way to replace the audio is to record the audio again for the video clip.

         

  • Click on the ‘Record audio’ option
  • Make sure your microphone is setup and connected properly
  • When you are ready to record the audio, click on ‘Start recording’
  • As the video clip plays, you can start recording the new audio. 
  • You can pause the recording at any time. Or, resume by clicking on the ‘play’ icon. Click on the ‘Stop’ icon once you are done with the recording

          

  • Preview the clip with the newly recorded audio
  • If you are happy with the result, click on ‘Save’
  1. Once the video clip is processed, you can ‘Export’ the final video.
  2. Go to the ‘My content’ page to check the status and update Distribution settings to share the video with the desired users.
